TEAM boss Cami Brown admitted his team “blew a great chance” to win at Berwick.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers went down 46-44 in the Cab Direct Championship at Shielfield Park on Saturday night.
After six races, Brown’s side were eight points in front but couldn’t stop a fierce fightback from the Bandits in the latter stages.
He said: “It’s a very frustrating result, we blew a great chance to get a vital win away from home. I’m absolutely gutted with that one.
“We looked very comfortable in the early stages and Chris Harris was back to his very best all night. His pass of Nick Morris in Heat 11 was sensational.
“Fair play to Berwick they came back at us as we knew they would. Peter Kildemand was excellent returning from injury and they had an excellent debut performance from Jordan Jenkins.
“Heat 14 killed it for us. We were shocked to give away a 5-1 at that stage.
“But for us it’s massively disappointing to lose the meeting from the position we were in. It’s a win that definitely got away.
“I still fancied us to get something out of Heat 15 but then Chris had a bike issue and had to use Freddy Hodder’s machine. That was a huge blow.
“Sam (Hagon) was much improved. Mario (Hausl) started well but faded and Kevin (Juhl Pedersen) had a bad one for us. There were too many last places in the latter half of the meeting.
“Our top three were pretty decent. But we just aren’t firing all together on the same night.
“We’ve got to pick ourselves up now and get ready for a vital meeting at Oxford on Wednesday.
“I keep saying it but the boys have got to find an extra level now, especially the middle order.”
