TEAM boss Cami Brown has told his team to deliver three “cup final” performances.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers face Redcar in the Cab Direct Championship at Ashfield on Friday night.
Brown’s side need to win their remaining three fixtures against the Bears, Edinburgh and Oxford and take the aggregate bonus points to have any chance of making the play-offs.
He said: “We’ve got a lot to do to keep our top four hopes alive. But while it is mathematically possible, we have to fight for everything.
“I’ve told the boys that we have three cup finals left. We need three huge performances and see where that takes us.
“It’s been a tough season for us from the off. Losing Lee Complin and Steve Worrall were huge blows.
“But we are still in with a shout of salvaging something positive for the fans.
“Redcar are a very good side. They’ve had their own problems but they have two great riders in Charles Wright and Danny King who both love Ashfield. That makes them a real threat.
“The main thing is that we have at least two huge home meetings left against the Bears and Oxford. We also have to go to Edinburgh. They are going to be massive occasions and we need the fans to get behind us for one last push.
“Our results away from home have been patchy to say the least. But the entertainment at Ashfield has been sensational this season. I believe we are seeing the best racing ever. That’s why we should pack out the stadium for two great meetings.”
Key scorer James Pearson believes it’s a “big ask” but they can still finish the season with a winning spree.
He said: “I don’t think there’s any point at looking at other teams and what they can do.
“We can only control what we can do. If we win our three remaining meetings I think we could make the top four.
“I think it’s a big ask especially as we have Edinburgh away and Oxford at home. The main thing is that we focus on getting the wins. It’s possible and while we can do it mathematically, we have to give it everything.”
