CAMI Brown believes there is more to come from Glasgow Tigers as they prepare for a “huge” couple of weeks.
The Tigers – who sit second in the SGB Championship table – face Oxford home and away before welcoming league leaders Leicester to Ashfield over the course of the next eight days.
It starts with a test against the Cheetahs at home on Friday night on their return to the sport’s second tier.
Brown says he believes his riders are well-placed to start trying to rein in Stewart Dickson’s Leicester side.
“I am looking forward to it all and I’m glad we have got a full seven for the fixtures,” he said.
“We thought we might be missing Ben Basso for some international qualifiers but we will have him, and you can see coming on strong now and scoring big points.
“There is so much more to come from him – I feel that way for all of them. I think we can expect more from Ulrich Ostergaard and from Craig Cook as the more experienced guys.
“The young boys are going well – Connor Bailey is slowly and steadily improving, Broc Nicol is getting a bit of form, Danyon Hume is doing well and Tom Brennan is one of the biggest talents in the UK.
“Towards the end of the season we can see them improving again. That was the plan, for this team to grow, and you can see that starting to happen.”
Brown insists that while Oxford sit eighth in the table, the Tigers not take them for granted.
He added: “The next few matches are huge.
“Oxford is a big challenge. They have a rider out injured so Dillon Ruml will get extra rides for them now and he rides our place well.
“Any team coming with Scott Nicholls and Troy Batchelor has to be respected and there are some other good riders as well.
“Aaron Summers is making his return to a bike after almost a year away and everyone knows how talented he is, and how well he races Ashfield.
“We have to be on our guard, that’s what we’ll be telling the boys.”
