TEAM` boss Cami Brown is expecting a “super-tough” challenge at Scunthorpe.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers face the Scorpions in their first Cab Direct Championship away clash of the season tonight (Friday).
Glasgow go into the fixture without Mario Hausl who races for Germany in the Speedway of Nations 2 in Prague with Jack Smith coming in as a guest.
Brown admits: “It’s going to be a super-tough meeting for us, there’s no doubt.
“Scunthorpe strengthened their side last week and smashed Berwick heavily.
“We are certainly going to need to find something really special to get the result we want. It’s fair to say we need to improve.
“Our top three will need to be at their very best and we can get the job done.
“Chris Harris and Kyle Howarth finished top two in last year’s Championship Riders’ title at Scunny, so we know they can deliver.
“Sam Hagon moves up to No.2 in the team and he can be very effective on his night. Kevin Juhl Pedersen is making his debut at Scunthorpe but he’s adapted really well so far this season.
“We are delighted that Freddy Hodder is back after injuring his hand and Jack Smith rode well for Berwick last week at Scunthorpe, so he was the ideal guest replacement for Mario.
“It’s always a tough one at Scunthorpe, it’s a track which is very good for racing and competitive. They are well dialled in so we’ll need to be sharp and battle for everything.
“It’s a big week for us then going to Poole next Wednesday, so a positive result is vital.”
