TEAM boss Cami Brown was delighted with another “super-solid” performance to beat Oxford.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers closed the gap on Poole at the top of the Cab Direct Championship with a 55-35 victory at Ashfield on Saturday night.
It means that Brown’s team are just one point behind the Dorset club with two meetings in hand and also confirmed their place in the play-offs.
He said: “We look a compact unit right now, the top five are super-solid.
“The reserves Freddy (Hodder) and Max (Perry) had a tough night. Freddy worked so hard for little reward and we are relieved that Max got up from a heavy crash on the fourth bend. He’s feeling a bit second hand but should be OK for our next meeting.
“All-in-all, it was a really good business-like display and we are looking stronger every meeting.
“I have to single out special praise for Kyle (Howarth). He’s had a really tough week with his mum being very ill. But typical of Kyle he has shown immense character and delivered an outstanding performance.
“Chris (Harris) was epic once again with outstanding races with Sam Masters, this track serves up sensational entertainment every week. Full credit to the track staff for delivering such a great circuit.
“I’m delighted we’ve closed the gap on Poole at the top. But we now have two huge fixtures at Edinburgh and Workington on Friday and Saturday.”
