PAUL STARKE admits he has “unfinished business” with glory to achieve with Glasgow.
The six-time trophy winner is the fifth rider to sign for the Allied Vehicles Tigers for the 2024 season.
‘Iron Man’ Starke, 33, was last at Ashfield in 2019 but missed half the season due to a double broken wrist injury.
Now he is returning will is huge desire to help the club retain the Championship league title.
He said: “Glasgow is a great club and it was a huge blow for me personally so be injured in 2019. I had a good previous year but we wanted the win the league.
“In the end they lost the final in 2019. I believe I could have helped them win it. So I’ve definitely got unfinished business. I want to win the title with them for sure.
“It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster for me since then. We had the pandemic and I’ve not found the form I wanted to since.
“But to re-join the Tigers and that hunger for success is just what I need. I know what I’m capable of and so do the management at Glasgow.
“It’s always been a huge club. I love the fans and atmosphere at Ashfield and I can’t wait to be back up there in March.”
Tigers team boss Cami Brown is delighted to bring Starke back to Ashfield.
He added: “It was a huge blow to lose Paul during the 2019 season, in my mind, it ended up costing us the league title.
“Paul is a brilliant engine room performer and I know he will play a really strong role for us.”
