Dear Tigers fans
It is February, and that means the final winter STARs event of this close season. There are Just a handful of days now until the next hot date for your speedway social diary, and what a terrific night is in prospect.
STARs event
The place to be this Saturday night is the Marriott Hotel (doors open 6:30pm, event time 7:15pm to 10:30pm), where Tigers fans will gather to welcome an excellent guest panel of 7 times British Champion Scott Nicholls (accompanied by former SKY Sports presenter, the lovely Mrs Sophie Nicholls!), and Team GB and Poole team boss Neil Middleditch, to Glasgow. Admission on the door is Adults £10, Concessions £8, Under 16 £2, Growlers Members Free
A clear highlight of the night will be the induction, to the Tigers Hall of Fame of Jimmy Beaton Snr. and former star rider Charlie Monk.
Supporters will also receive a pre season update from the new management team on subjects including track improvements, latest work permit status for Harley and Joey, stadium facility improvements, supporter survey and sponsorship opportunities for all.
Team manager Sean Courtney will be on hand to give his views on the 2013 line up and share his aspirations for the season ahead.
In typical STARs fashion there will also be an excellent speedway auction featuring, amongst other items, some signed Scott Nicholls prints, a signed Jason Crump print and a much prized Glasgow Tigers 1993 race jacket.
This really is a not to be missed event, and of course a perfect way to spend an evening in the company of fellow Tigers fans as the new season edges ever closer.
Work Party (Sunday, 10th Feb @10:30am)
We would be grateful to anyone available to help us with some stadium work this Sunday morning. Principal task is to empty the contents of the family room/bar area on the 4th bend in preparation for its demolition ahead of the new season. There will also be plenty of painting tasks too. Thank you in advance.
