GLASGOW boss Cami Brown hailed No.1 Chris Harris as “sensational” after a huge away win at Birmingham.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers won 53-36 in the Cab Direct Championship at Perry Barr with ‘Bomber’ completing a second successive full maximum score.
Birmingham lost their top man Nick Morris on the eve of the clash as he was declared “unfit to race”. Glasgow took full advantage to romp to their biggest away win of the campaign.
It also meant 10 race victories on the bounce for Harris after his full score at Ashfield against Redcar last Friday.
Brown said: “Chris was sensational yet again. He produced two brilliant passes from the back and was different class.
“I’m delighted for all the boys to have a really good night. Everyone got stuck in and scored a few.
“Birmingham were obviously rocked by losing Nick shortly before the start of the meeting. Naturally it made a huge difference to their strength.
“To their credit, they battled really hard and special mention for Alfie Bowtell who was excellent.
“But it’s another big win for us on the road. We’ve won two vital meetings in five days and now we need to kick on.”
It was a frustrating start for the Tigers with Marcin Nowak excluded after Heat 1 for not having a dirt deflector on his bike.
But they soon took control of the encounter with Harris going past Troy Batchelor in Heat 5.
There were also strong performances from Tom Brennan and Claus Vissing while both reserves were consistent.
Brown added: “It was a proper all round team display, Tom and Claus were fantastic as well. It’s a good confidence boost for the boys, especially for Lee Complin and Ace Pijper.”
Birmingham 36: Alfie Bowtell 14, Troy Batchelor 10, Justin Sedgmen 5+1, Paul Starke 3, Sam Hagon 3, Stefan Nielsen 1.
Glasgow 53: Chris Harris 15, Tom Brennan 11+3, Claus Vissing 9+2, Ben Basso 7+1, Lee Complin 5, Ace Pijper 4+1, Marcin Nowak 2+1.
