With January about to be replaced by the onset of February, time is clearly marching on now towards tapes-up on the new speedway season!
Last season left us with a number of challenges. Through lots of grit, determination and hard work we have been able to manoeuvre ourselves into a position to be able to take part in the 2014 Premier League and we know this is something which has delighted our supporters everywhere.
We must now ensure that the club has sufficient strength – in both support and sponsorship – to ensure that we can all thoroughly enjoy 2014 and continue to grow from here.
This is where we wish you our supporters to please provide some additional assistance to the club, in whatever form.
Can you help the club in respect of any of the following?
Sunday Working Parties
Thanks to the help of a number of Tigers supporters we have already made some good progress in and around the stadium, however there remains a lot of work still to do (mainly tidying, weeding and painting) for which we would greatly benefit from having a few more pairs of hands.
Any supporter who would be willing to give up, perhaps just a few hours across a few Sunday’s, would be made very welcome. Whilst we will provide the majority of the materials required, please do bring along any tools/equipment to assist us.
Please note that the first official working party will now start on Sunday, 9th February (from 10:30am) and not now Sunday, 2nd February as we indicated in our previous newsletter.
Monsieur Berge
We are all excited to welcome young Dimitri to the club, and we very much look forward to enjoy watching him develop in the colours of Glasgow Speedway.
Naturally we wish to make the young lad, and his family, feel extremely welcome and settled here in Glasgow which is where he will be based for his first season in British Speedway.
Over the first few weeks of the season Dimitri will be accompanied by his mother, both are looking to live in the City.
We would ideally like if Dimitri and his mother could be accommodated, even in the short term, by the greater speedway family here in Scotland. Whilst somewhere to live is of principle importance, it would of course be much more suited if there was also access to some garage space which Dimitri could utilise as a workshop. Perhaps living accommodation and workshop could be provided independently by more than one supporter or family.
If you feel that you may be in a position to help the club, and to offer such facilities to DImitri, we would be very pleased to hear from you via email in the first instance to info@glasgowtigers.co
Sponsorship – Air fence, Heat, Tyre and Race Jacket
With our sincere thanks to those of you who have contacted us in the past week, we have since been able to secure some additional sponsorship.
Like every other speedway club around the country Glasgow Speedway depends upon securing vital income from sponsorship. As a club, we too must generate a significant amount of sponsorship / advertising revenue to be successful.
We still have available opportunities for any business to come on board for 2014 and really help to, vitally, support the Tigers.
We therefore would like to hear from the owners of any businesses who would like to develop a relationship with Glasgow Speedway this season. Equally, if any supporter is able to speak with their employers, or business owners, and create an introduction for us to follow up, this would be hugely appreciated.
We offer a large range of sponsorship / advertising opportunities (e.g. meeting sponsorship, heat sponsorship, corporate hospitality, programme advertising, stadium & centre green advertising) and would be delighted to have the opportunity to discuss these with any prospective club sponsor. If you can provide such an introduction, or would like to directly discuss backing the club, in the first instance please contact us by email to info@glasgowtigers.co
Meantime, please too take a look at our ‘Back the 2014 Boys’ website page to read some other ways in which you can support Glasgow Tigers in 2014.
As ever we greatly appreciate your much valued support and are increasingly excited at the prospect of seeing you all again come opening day on 30th March at Ashfield.
We are, with your assistance, looking to ensure that we use the interim period to maximum effect in readying the stadium and generating revenue to the club. Can you help the club in respect of any of the above? Thank you.
