EDINBURGH triumphed in a demolition Scottish derby that saw three riders pull out with injuries before a race had been completed on Friday.
Glasgow’s Craig Cook, along with the Monarchs’ Sam Masters and Lasse Fredriksen, withdrew after all four riders came down in the opening bend of heat one in the Jubilee League tie at Armadale.
With the Tigers already operating rider replacement for Ben Basso, it left each side down to five riders, forcing several of them to complete a full seven-ride programme.
And it was the away side that ran out of steam first, as two 5-1s the last two races for Edinburgh sealed a 50-40 win in what had been a tight meeting until that point.
Posting on Twitter, Cook said he was on his way to hospital to get injuries to his hip, hand and thumbs checked over.
It is unclear how long he will be out, but rider replacement will operate for the trip to Berwick on Saturday.
Glasgow go into that match needing a win to have a chance of qualifying from their Jubilee League group.
The Tigers will welcome Tom Brennan and Ben Basso back after their Speedway of Nations 2 appearance on Friday.
