The countdown to the first Glasgow Tigers match of the season is well and truly underway.
Just three days before the season opening challenge match with Coventry, the Tigers’ annual Press & Practice Day proved a great success, with a decent turnout of fans joining print journalists and the BBC cameras to see the new Tigers team in preparation for Sunday.
All seven riders showed their paces around the track, giving media and fans alike something to get excited about.
The evening saw the Den Diner play host to a special Meet the Riders fan event, where for the first time the whole team were in attendance to answer questions and give their thoughts on their upcoming season. Richie Worrall – who’s recently been training in Croatia with the British national squad – gave his thoughts on riding for Glasgow and the impression he had after visiting Ashfield last year as a guest and opponent:
“The thing that attracted me was the passion shown by the fans here. Even riding with Somerset you could feel it.”
Fans also got to hear from team manager Stewart Dickson, owners Gerry and Michael Facenna and were introduced to new club promoter Craig McCurdy.
