GLASGOW Tigers are aiming to pull in a global audience when they return to the track after a 19-month absence on Friday night.
With fans unable to return to the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium yet, the club are launching a brand new live streaming service – meaning supporters across the world can see the new-look Tigers take on Kent Kings.
New presenter Stephen Craigan – best-known for his playing days with Motherwell and and as a TV football pundit – cannot make the opening fixture.
Instead, the ‘voice of speedway’ Nigel Pearson – who fronts the Speedway Grand Prix series and Eurosport’s coverage of the British league – will step in.

There are four new faces – Australian Justin Sedgmen, Americans Ricky Wells and Broc Nicol, and Denmark’s Ulrich Ostergaard – with Brits Craig Cook and Jack Smith, and Dane Sam Jensen, returning in the red and white.
Club director Peter Facenna is backing the rejuvenated Tigers to be at the right end of the table again come October.
He said: “We’ve built the team slightly differently this year. We always want to have a strong reserve and that is how we’ve set the team up.
“We believe some of the guys are on false averages for their potential – based on what they can achieve or they’ve achieved in the past. Ricky, Ulrich, Justin and Broc all have huge potential to up their game.
“You know what you’re going to get from Craig – generally speaking he’s going to win the vast majority of races home or away – so you’ve got a real talisman there.
“Sam showed flashes of great ability in his short stint with us in 2019. With Jack he’s really got something to prove, because he’s had it tough in the last couple of years but he has all the potential in the world.
“There are some really strong teams in the league this year. As usual our aim will be to at least reach the play-offs – which we’ve achieved in the last five years – and hopefully we can go on and win some silverware.”
