IT’S “CRUNCH TIME” FOR TIGERS

GLASGOW boss Cami Brown believes it’s “crunch time” as they face Plymouth.

The Allied Vehicles Tigers take on the Gladiators in the Cab Direct Championship at Ashfield Stadium tonight (7.30pm), live on BSN.

It kicks off a busy period of fixtures for the Tigers and Brown says his team must start to find form and consistency.

He said: “It’s now getting to crunch time. August is going to be a massive month for us and it’s starts right now.

“We’ve got five meetings in 12 days coming up this month. We need to go up a gear now.

“This is always when it gets to the business end of the season. August is when you need to be finding some momentum and belief that you can win trophies.

“But we need to find more consistency now. I don’t feel we’ve really delivered a statement performance and show how good we can be.

“That needs to happen now. I want all the boys to be on form and start really hitting big scores home and away. We need that if we are going to win silverware.”

Plymouth have been forced to make changes with both Dan Gilkes and James Pearson racing in the Speedway of Nations 2 in Latvia.

The Gladiators have drafted in Jacob Hook to guest for Pearson and were set to run rider replacement for Gilkes. However they also lost Dan Thompson last night with a broken collarbone.

Brown continued: “It’s a really fascinating clash with the Gladiators.

“They are bottom of the league and have only won one meeting this season. That is such a strange situation because they are now a damn good side!

“Plymouth need to make up for lost time after so many rained-off meetings and they can still reach the Play-Offs and still be a real threat for the title.

“Any side that boasts the likes of Kyle Howarth, Richie Worrall and Ben Barker as a top three must be taken very seriously.”

GLASGOW: Chris Harris, Marcin Nowak, Benjamin Basso, Claus Vissing, Tom Brennan, Lee Complin, Ace Pijper.
PLYMOUTH: Kyle Howarth, Dan Gilkes R/R, Ben Barker, Dan Thompson (tbc), Richie Worrall, Jacob Hook, Ben Trigger.
