CHRIS HARRIS says his side needs to “find a spark” after a heavy defeat at Poole.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers went down by 55-35 to the Pirates in the Cab Direct Championship at Wimborne Road on Wednesday night.
After a small blip in form, Harris was sensational with 15 points from six rides in Dorset.
He admitted: “I haven’t had the strongest start to the season but I’m delighted to get back amongst the points tonight.
“It was tough as it always is at Poole. We needed to get dialled in and get out of the starts.
“We’ve just got to stay positive as a team, we know what we are capable of. We just had too many boys having an off night, like I did on Friday.
“We need to go away and regroup and try and find a spark to click together and then we should be back on song, as they say.”
The home side roared into an 18-6 lead after just four heats and increased that to a 34-14 after eight as Tigers struggled to get off the starts quick enough.
However an excellent tactical substitute 5-1 from Harris and Kyle Howarth stopped the rot. Leon Flint then held off Richard Lawson in Heat 10 as the away side showed some real fight.
It all ended with Harris winning the final race with Flint third to end a tough night on a positive note.
