It is Knock Out Cup weekend as the form improving Allied Vehicles Tigers do battle, home and away, with Rye House Rockets with a quarter final tie against Newcastle awaiting the winners.
Tigers are mindful of being eliminated, at this same first round stage, by the Rockets a year ago, and will be targeting some revenge this weekend.
The first leg takes place tomorrow night in Hertforshire with the Tigers seeking a big improvement on their two 2013 visits to Hoddesdon.
Of course the 2014 version Tigers has a much different look and feel from last season, and may well have a secret weapon at reserve in the form of ex Rocket Kasper Lykke who will relish the opportunity to race against his former club and team mates.
Tigers travel South in optimistic mood having rallied their form in recent weeks to record back-to-back league wins at Ashfield, and weren’t far off claiming an away point at Redcar. Certainly the mission will be to return to Glasgow on Sunday still in contention of claiming an aggregate win over the Rockets.
The Rockets themselves have shown mixed form so far this season with some thumping defeats on their travels, however led by Edward Kennett and with Ashfield specialist Jason Garrity at reserve, they will be confident of repeating their cup victory of 12 months ago over the Tigers.

Latest on Dimitri
Dimitri remains in hospital in Glasgow although is hoping to shortly be allowed to travel home to France complete his recuperation.
He is awaiting final arrangements from the French Motorcycle Federation (or equivalent) to be accompanied home by a French doctor, and is expected to complete the next stage of his recuperation in a facility which excels in treating sports injury.
We will, of course, keep you informed of Dimitri’s progress and any early indication as to when we will see him back in action here at Ashfield.

Hosted via the club’s own website the online shop will allow purchase using payments cards (with secure payment processing via PayPal) as well as allowing to request delivery by postage to your preferred address, else to ‘click and collect’ items at Ashfield. We will announce our launch shortly.

If our race day weather looks less than perfect then remember please to consult the combined resources of the ‘Meeting Status’ on our club website and also our social media feeds for the latest news. If none have officially stated the meeting is off, then it’s on!
Please be assured that we will aim to run every meeting if, having consulted a localised meteorological forecast, we believe that we will have a window to successfully run. Otherwise we will make as early a call off as possible.
