CAMI Brown believes there are “six or seven” sides in the hunt for the SGB Championship play-offs as the race heats up at the top of the table.
His Glasgow side head to Plymouth tomorrow night, knowing a win would put them back at the summit with a meeting in hand over leaders Scunthorpe.
It is the start of a big week for the Tigers, who face a double-header with rivals Edinburgh this weekend.
And the tie will have some “added spice” as the Gladiators have just signed Jack Smith at reserve, following his departure from Glasgow a few weeks ago.
Brown – whose side have won twice on the road this season – said: “I think we have to be wary down there.
“Poole went there last week and only managed a draw, and we know how good a side Poole are. We have to have that in our minds.
“We’d been due to ride Plymouth at the start of the season and it was called off. It will be tougher now because they’ve ridden a few times at home.
“Our guys haven’t been together since a week past on Friday so there atmosphere is good and they’re looking forward to it.
“Connor has been doing a lot of practice, as have Ricky and Justin. Ricky came up to the track and is showing great commitment of the cause, and is putting the effort in to get things right.
“The fact that home teams have had to use tactical subs against us in several matches is a compliment to the way we’ve been riding away from home.
“But we need to keep winning our home matches, where we have a lot of tough challenges ahead, and then I think we’ll need another couple of away wins to make the play-offs.
“There are six or seven teams in there who could be in the mix, so we just have to get as many points as we can, and tomorrow is vital.”
The Tigers will be at full strength for the tie, as long as riders make it through any Premiership fixtures they are part of tonight unscathed.
