2015 End of Season Awards Night

We’re all counting down to our End of Season Awards Night, which is sure to be a fun filled evening with live music, DJ, karaoke, good food and a full bar.

Fans will also see Glasgow Tigers riders presented with their end of season awards, reliving their 2015 performances and discussing their hopes and expectations for 2016.

Several of the team’s most successful and popular riders of 2015 will be in attendance including:

  • Aaron Summers – It would be fair to say that our skipper made a steady start to his career in the red and white stripes. However, Aaron’s magnificent performance in the Premier League Cup semi final at Ashfield seemed to be the catalyst for a second half of the season which at times was truly breathtaking.
  • Richard Lawson – Richard’s 12 point haul at Somerset in the 1st leg of our playoff semi final was a huge factor in Tigers aggregate victory over the Rebels. This was just one of many highlights that saw him finish the season as our leading points scorer and one of the top riders in the Premier League.
  • James Sarjeant – James started his first full season as a Tiger at reserve and ended by beating the Premier League’s top man in the Championship Final – not bad progress! His determination and commitment to the cause, along with some match winning performances – most notably in the home leg of the playoff semi final – made him a real fans’ favourite during 2015.
  • Victor Palovaara – After a short spell with us at the end of 2014 Victor looked like great value on a three point average and he didn’t disappoint, significantly improving on this figure. Reaching the third round under 21 World Championship Final Series was a fantastic achievement and his respectable ninth place finish merely highlights the undoubted potential of our super Swede.

This year has seen the Tigers attract new owners, deliver a major stadium redevelopment, experience a huge increase in attendances and reach the League Cup and Premier League Championship finals.  Make sure to join us for what’s set to be a brilliant night of music, food, awards, dancing and of course speedway!
