DAN THOMPSON says the team know they need to deliver their “A-game” to win the league title.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers take on Poole in the Cab Direct Championship Grand Final decider at Ashfield, 7.30pm.
Thompson, 21, was excellent in the first leg at Wimborne Road and believes this side can turn around the 12-point deficit.
He said: “Last time out against Poole we had a good meeting, one of our best results.
“We just need to be that little bit stronger. This time we’ll have Villads (Nagel) and he makes such a big difference to our team.
“We won by eight last time without him so we can do better, we know that.
“We just all need to be on our A-game. There can’t be any friends on the track tonight. It’s going to be who wants it the most.
“Poole prepared their track in a way that they felt they could build up an advantage.
“Now it’s our turn to have a track how we like it and try and put them on the backfoot.”
Thompson has already tasted title success with Ipswich and would love to complete a wonder double in both leagues.
He added: “After winning the Premiership with Ipswich, the goal now is definitely to try and make it a double by taking the league title with Glasgow.
“It would be amazing to end the year as a double champion — that’s something every rider dreams of. We’ve got a fantastic group of lads at Glasgow, a really strong team spirit, and great management behind us.
“Everyone pulls in the same direction, and that’s what makes the difference in the big moments.
“We know it’s not going to be easy, but we’ve got the belief and the determination to make it happen.
“To finish the season with two titles would be the perfect way to cap off what’s already been a really special year.”
