BROWN WANTS INSTANT REACTION

TEAM boss Cami Brown wants an “instant reaction” after crashing out of the KO Cup.

The Allied Vehicles Tigers begin the defence of the Championship league title against Workington at Ashfield Stadium tonight (Friday).

It comes just 48 hours after cup hopes were ended by Oxford following a heavy 54-36 defeat.

Brown said: “It’s a sore one, there’s no doubt about that. But as a group, we can’t dwell on the past now.

“We are totally focused now on retaining the league title. That means the most to us.

“We wanted to win the league more than anything over the past few seasons and we managed to do that with a wonderful win over Poole last October.

“We definitely don’t want to let get of it without a fight. Workington are definitely a threat because they have Ashfield specialists in Craig Cook and Claus Vissing.

“I want an instant reaction from the boys. They were all annoyed to lose in the cup, now they need to show some grit to come back from it.

“There’s no excuses now. We’ve had some problems at reserve with suspension and injury but we’ve got to kick on now and deal with it.”

GLASGOW: Chris Harris, James Pearson, Leon Flint, Paul Starke, Steve Worrall, Freddy Hodder, Jack Smith.
WORKINGTON: Craig Cook, Tate Zischke, Dan Thompson, Claus Vissing, Troy Batchelor, Sam McGurk, Celina Liebmann.
