TEAM boss Cami Brown hailed captain Chris Harris as “out of this world” after a last-gasp win over Berwick.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers beat the Jewson Bandits 48-41 in the Cab Direct Championship at Ashfield on Friday night.
The visitors were in control in the latter stages but Harris produced three outstanding passes from the back to snatch the vital victory.
Brown said: “Chris was out of this world. He was unbeaten by an opponent all night but his last three rides were simply incredible.
“He is worth the admission price alone. He saved the meeting for us. We were struggling but Chris dragged us back into it.
“Chris is like a fine wine he just gets better with age. The racing was also sensational. Fans that have been coming for years said it was the best they had ever seen at Ashfield.”
Tigers led by six after four races but the visitors were level at Heat 7 and then three in front with just three races to go.
Brown added: “I have to give special praise as well for Steve Worrall, James Pearson and Jack Smith.
“The 5-1 from James and Jack in Heat 14 was the real match winner probably. That put us in front before the final race. That was vital.
“Fair play to Berwick they gave us one hell of a battle. But we got over the line.
“We still have problems to solve. We are just not getting every rider clicking on the same night. When that happens someone is in for one heck of a beating.
“It’s frustrating but we go to Berwick on Saturday night with renewed belief we can get a result.”
