TEAM boss Cami Brown admits he was left “frustrated” by a narrow defeat at Scunthorpe.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers went down by 49-41 in the Cab Direct Championship at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Friday night.
Kyle Howarth top scored with paid 14 for Glasgow but an uncharacteristic poor show of just three points from No.1 Chris Harris was costly in the final outcome.
Brown said: “It’s obviously a very frustrating defeat because we were in the mix and got into good positions to win the meeting.
“They got a 5-1 in the last heat which makes the scoreline look more comfortable for them.
“But trailing by just two points with three races to go I felt we could get something from the meeting.
“Obviously Chris has had a nightmare and it’s so unlike him. He was leading Heat 1 and ends up falling and doing the same in Heat 5.
“To be honest we felt he was unlucky to get excluded in Heat 1. He had nowhere to go but the referee didn’t want to watch any replays.
“Chris is a world class rider and naturally he’s fuming that he’s not contributed more. It’s just a very rare off night for him. Knowing Chris, he’ll come back all guns blazing.
“There were some decent performances Sam Hagon got stuck in for six while our guest Jack Smith battled for everything.
“It’s just hard to take because I felt we were so close to getting a vital away win. It was there for the taking. The priority now is to make sure we get the aggregate bonus point in the return fixture at Ashfield.”
