CAMI Brown insists Glasgow have a chance to turn over their big rivals in pursuit of more silverware this weekend.
The Tigers face Edinburgh and Berwick away on Friday and Saturday, then the Monarchs at home on Sunday, in a crunch few days in the Jubilee League.
Two victories may be enough to see the Ashfield outfit qualifying from the Scottish section of the new cup competition.
But Glasgow go into Friday’s visit to Armadale without two of their top riders – with Tom Brennan and Ben Basso representing their countries in the Speedway of Nations 2 final in Denmark.
However, Brown believes his side still have a chance – with Aaron Summers stepping in as a guest for Brennan and rider replacement operating for Basso.
The Tigers team boss said: “I hate going anywhere with a six-man team but our hand is forced. Most of the other guests we could have booked are already riding.
“But with Ben going to second in the averages, everyone can have a rider replacement ride including Craig Cook.
“If some of the guys ride as they can at Armadale we should still be competitive. Ulrich Ostergaard goes there well, Aaron is good round there and Craig has been riding better there recently.”
Glasgow hope to return to full strength for Saturday and Sunday as riders return from international duty.
Brown added: “We’re taking this deadly serious – we want to get through and don’t want Edinburgh knocking us out of another competition after losing to them in the KO Cup.
“It will be more difficult at Armadale but we’ll give it a go – I think a win at Berwick is doable.
“Edinburgh at home won’t be easy. We only beat them 46-44 in the league and a lot of their guys ride our place well.
“Our home form has been good, so we are confident, but it will be a waste of time if we don’t win one of the away matches.”
