TIGERS co-owner Peter Facenna paid tribute to Tom Brennan for helping make history at the club.
The young Great Britain star will not be back at Ashfield for the 2024 season as team-building is already underway.
It’s less than a week since Brennan helped the Tigers win the Cab Direct Championship with two excellent performances against Poole.
Facenna said: “Tom has been a pleasure to deal with over the past two-and-a-half years. It’s been great to work with him and his team.
“He has made history at the club and the fans and management will never forget that.
“Tom had initially intimated that he was unsure on continuing in the Championship.
“I’m sure he will go on to bigger and better things and hopefully one day he will be back in the red and white stripes.”
Facenna revealed that the club is wasting no time in assembling a team ready to defend the Championship title.
He added: “There’s little doubt that team building is far more challenging this winter. We wanted the standard in the Championship to remain the same but that won’t be the case.
“It will be almost impossible to have three heat leaders in a properly balanced team. Nonetheless we are in the process of building a side ready to defend the Championship title.”
Brennan, 22, arrived midway through the 2021 season after his previous club Eastbourne closed and Ulrich Ostergaard was ruled out of the Tigers campaign with injury.
During his time at Ashfield, Tigers have reached two Grand Finals, a Play-Off semi-final and the BSN Final.
Brennan said: “I’d just like to say a massive thank you to Glasgow Tigers Speedway and fans for supporting me for the past 2.5 years throughout my time with the club, in what has been a very difficult time at points both on and off the track.
“This morning I had a message from the management to say that I would not be included in their team next season.
“I have great memories with the club, obviously the stand-out being winning the Championship last week with a great group of lads as team-mates.
“Thank you to everyone involved again and good luck for the future.”
