GLASGOW team boss Cami Brown admits it’s going to be a “blockbuster” month for the club.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers head into a vital period of meetings starting with Scunthorpe in the Cab Direct Championship at Ashfield Stadium on Friday night (June 23).
It is followed by the BSN Series Final against Poole and Redcar in the Championship the next two Fridays and then the British Under-21 Final on July 16.
Brown said: “It’s just one huge meeting one after the other. It’s going to be tough but that’s what you want.
“It’s great for the club and the fans to have so many big and exciting meetings. It’s going to be a blockbuster month.
“Like I said at the start of the season, there are no easy meetings in the Championship. Birmingham have also strengthened up now which means there are no guaranteed results.
“Scunthorpe will be another massive test. They are a tougher team since we beat them in the BSN Series semi-final. Then it’s Poole in the BSN Final and Redcar.
“We have to win all three meetings and we have to win them with big leads. We want the aggregate bonus point in the Championship meetings.
“Poole is going to be another monumental clash. We’ve now faced them in the Grand Final and semi-final over the past two seasons and lost both heavily.
“They are still the benchmark and we will need to be at our absolute best to win the first trophy of the season in British speedway.”
Brown also paid tribute to the entertainment value at Ashfield after last week’s epic win over rivals Edinburgh.
He added: “We had to delay the start to allow all the fans in, there were queues for a long time.
“Fans are flocking back to Ashfield because of the racing. It is living up to the hype. Heat 13 last week when Ben Basso and Chris Harris beat Justin Sedgmen on the line is being dubbed as the best-ever race seen at the track.
“There’s been some sensational races down the years and that is right up there.
“But we’re getting the big crowds back, the entertainment is sensational. Ashfield is buzzing again.”
