Battle of the Big Cats

We are now very much on full throttle with our Premier League campaign as the fixtures, each one tougher than the previous, are now coming rapid fire.

This Sunday we welcome the Leicester Lions to Ashfield, they track a talented side which contains a couple of familiar faces to Tigers fans, and one which is certain to again test the Tigers as we look to maintain our unbeaten home record and claim more invaluable league points.

Tigers will look to try and eradicate some of the easier points lost on Sunday, and this will be vital if we are to come out on top against a Lions side led by former Tigers favourites Kauko Nieminen and Kevin Doolan who will be making his second visit to Ashfield in recent weeks having scored 8 points when guesting for Redcar.

Making up what is a very potent looking top 4 for the Lions are young Danish talent, the very stylish Lasse Bjerre, and the experienced former Edinburgh star, Swede Magnus Karlsson.

If the Lions top 4 are very power packed, so too are their new look reserve pairing of newly crowned British U21 champion Robert Branford and former Berwick Bandit Alex Edberg. The very capable Dane Jan Graversen completes the visitors side.

The feeling is that there is more to come from within the home camp this season with the team yet to fire all at once, one thing is for sure the Tigers will need to be at their very best this Sunday to outscore the opposition.

As ever, gates open at 1:45pm with racing commencing at 3pm.

A quick reminder too, if any supporter wishes to attend a GP night in the stadium bar this coming Saturday night (doors open at 5pm, £2 entry to cover finger buffet) then, due to limited spaces, please could you first email info@glasgowtigers.co to secure your places which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Look forward to seeing you, with friends, on Sunday.
