BRILLIANT Benjamin Basso went through the card as Glasgow completed their home league fixtures unbeaten.
The Dane won six races out of six against Birmingham as the home side took a comfortable 56-34 win on Friday.
Both sides were depleted by injury with No 1 Craig Cook and captain Ulrich Ostergaard missing for the Tigers – while the Brummies had just two of their regular riders.
Paul Starke stepped in as a guest for Ostergaard with rider replacement for Cook.
But it was Basso who stole the show as he battled past Birmingham riders on several occasions in an imperious performance.
“We have been building real momentum at home and that has continued.
“Ben Basso put in an amazing performance. He’s a real showman and we saw more of that tonight.
“I also thought the reserves – Connor Bailey and Broc Nicol – rode very well, and Paul Starke did a decent job for Ulrich.
“We’ve now got two more away matches to finish the league fixtures and focus now turns to getting something from those and trying to get second spot.”
Next up is a trip to Redcar on August 21 followed by Plymouth on August 23.
A top-two finish would put Glasgow straight into the SGB Championship play-off semi-finals.
