GLASGOW boss Cami Brown admitted it was a “show of strength” as his side won at Berwick.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers won 51-38 at Shielfield Park last night (Saturday) to take control of the Scottish BSN Series group.
Even without captain Tom Brennan, Glasgow were in control throughout with Ben Basso produced a dominating 18-point maximum performance.
Brown said: “That was a really impressive display from the boys. We were weakened without Tom and having to use rider replacement.
“But they responded brilliantly. They all played their part with vital wins and points from start to finish. It was a show of strength.
“Even young Ace Pijper rode his heart out and was unlucky to only get a point when he fell on a 5-1 in Heat 2.
“But obviously special praise for Ben, he was on a different planet all night with six straight wins.
“I keep saying it but the spirit in this team is different class. They are all fighting for each other, motivating each other and it’s paying off big time.
“It’s a long season ahead but if they can maintain this spirit, we will be a very good side.”
The Tigers took the lead in Heat 2 thanks to Lee Complin and never looked back. Complin was also excellent all night with eight points.
Marcin Nowak was also impressive, winning Heat 3 on the way to paid seven. Chris Harris produced a typically battling win from the back over Leon Flint on the way to a classy paid 12. Claus Vissing took victory in his final ride to score seven which included one exclusion.
