36 Hours To Go

“I am looking forward to it – hopefully a few folk will turn up.

And I’m looking forwards to having a few conversations with people. If they’re asking me questions, I’ll tell them some wee bits about my career – maybe a few home truths if anybody asks me the come controversial questions. I won’t be shy in answering!

It should be a great night and I’m pretty honoured that the STARs group have arranged a night around me. I’m quite chuffed about it.

I’ll just sit back and enjoy the night. Hopefully everybody else enjoys it. That’s what it’s all about”

– James Grieves

It’s just 36 hours to go until supporters group STARs hold their first winter event of the 2013/24 closed season, with their An Evening With James Grieves, being held in the Marriott Hotel at 7pm.

An evening to honour the Tigers legend, James Grieves, where friends and colleagues can look back on his Hall of Fame career.

And Grieves is promising a night to remember – when he may even reveal some secrets from the world of speedway.

The evening will include special guests, including several ex team mates, including Theo Pijper, David Walsh, David McAllan, Derek Sneddon, Stuart Coleman, Sean Stoddart and Craig Cook.

Members of the Tigers promotion will be in attendance, and will update the Tigers fans after the BSPA conference last weekend.

A special 16 page brochure will also be available on the night, for only £2, containing exclusive photos and comments, and of course comments from the man himself, including his favourite 1-7 team mates and opponents and his comments on 15 of his most memorable heats.

With the Tigers this week having declared their intention to run in 2014 the auction to be held on the night will be a vital boost to the Fence Fund which STARs administer.

Items in the auction include:

  • 2013 Glasgow Tigers (signed by James Grieves)
