GLASGOW boss Cami Brown admits he will call on the youngest member of his squad to assist more experienced campaigners when they hit the road for the first time this week.
The Tigers visit Kent tomorrow and Birmingham on Wednesday, as they look to build on a pair of home wins in the SGB Championship.
Jack Smith is the only rider to have taken to the shale at Kent before – as the Kings have only made the step up into the second tier this year.
Brown says Smith will have a key role to play.
He said: “The target is to get a win there. If we can win at Kent we’ll be sitting nicely and will have made a good start.
“We’ve said to all the boys that we’ve got to win the home matches to make the play-offs and win something away. That was one of the big challenges at home put aside against Poole on Friday.
“If we can come through these matches at home and pick up an away win at Kent, a point here, a point there, we should be in the mix for the play-offs.
“Only one of our riders has been to Kent before and that is Jack, who’s been there multiple times.
“I’ve spoken to Jack in depth and said to him, you have to relay all your knowledge and experience. He’s a reserve but he’s been around the game long enough, and I’ve told him that the other guys will listen to him.
“It’s going to be difficult, though. There will be no matches won away from home easily. If we all apply ourselves and everybody chips in, we’ll be OK.”
