CLUB owner Gerry Facenna has praised the “wonderful fans” for boosting the crowds at Ashfield.
The Tigers boss revealed the new ‘Trust The Fans’ initiative where the club will give out over 3,000 free tickets to potential new supporters before the end of the season.
That was given a soft launch for the final league match against Edinburgh and over 300 new fans attended.
He said: “It’s been a really strong start to ‘Trust The Fans’. We’ve had such an amazing reaction from our supporters.
“They really want to fill this stadium and help the club, we really have wonderful fans.
“We will give away thousands of tickets to new fans for the rest of the season. We want our fans to give those tickets to their friends and family.
“When we have done that in the past it has doubled our fanbase. We always find that when new fans come here, they want to come back.
“The most satisfying element of that is that it’s the youngsters who love it so much. They love the noise, the racing and also their own kids race during the interval.
“Every week I see new fans here. I’ll stand at the gate and talk to them. The kids love it.
“There’s one wee fella only comes for the kids running race we have during the interval. We’ve now got 100 kids in it every week. That’s very rewarding.
“Here at Glasgow we pride ourselves on having a fair racetrack that serves up fantastic racing. We know if new fans see the entertainment here, they will want to come back.
“Last week, for instance, Heats 11 and 15 with Kyle Howarth and Villads Nagel were sensational. We believe if we put on a show, fans will love it.”
