TOM ADMITS “HUGE TASK”

GLASGOW captain Tom Brennan knows his team have a “huge task” ahead in the BSN Final.

The Allied Vehicles Tigers go to Poole tonight (7.30pm) in the first leg at Wimborne Road.

The Pirates have won successive league and cup doubles in the Championship, making them favourites for another trophy.

But Brennan, 22, believes that his side have got the motivation and experience to win the silverware.

He said: “Of course it’s going to be a huge task. The Pirates have won pretty much everything over the past two years for a reason, they have got the know-how and delivered when it counts.

“But most of the boys in this Glasgow team have achieved success down the years. We’ve just got to make sure we all turn up and produce the points on both nights.

“We do feel like we want a bit of revenge against Poole. They’ve comfortably beaten us over the past two years in the Championship Play-Offs. And, trust me, that hurts and that feeling never really leaves you.

“I was in the race in 2021 Grand Final at Wimborne Road when they clinched the title and it’s not nice.

“But the main thing is just to focus on doing our job in this first leg so we can lift the trophy.”

Tigers have got a poor record in the Pirates over the past couple of years and Brennan says that is an extra incentive for the side.

He added: “We know we haven’t done ourselves justice against Poole. But all these sorts of records come to an end at some stage.

“The boys are all fired-up and now we need to do what it takes on the track.”

Poole: 1. Richard Lawson, 2. Anders Rowe, 3. Ben Cook, 4. Zach Cook, 5. Steve Worrall, 6. Kyle Newman, 7. Adam Roynon.

Glasgow: 1. Chris Harris, 2. Marcin Nowak, 3. Tom Brennan, 4. Claus Vissing, 5. Ben Basso, 6. Lee Complin, 7. Ace Pijper.
