Tigers‘ – Two Week Time Allowance

We’re yet another week closer to the launch of Glasgow Speedway’s brand new era, and the momentum continues to build!

With much of the planned ‘phase 1’ redevelopment work now in place around Ashfield Stadium, there still remains much to do to apply finishing touches to the retail and public facilities – can you lend us a hand this weekend?

With jobs ranging from painting, to sweeping, to general tidying, we are looking for volunteers to turn out tomorrow and Sunday anytime between 9am-4pm please – if you haven’t yet been along to see some of the stadium changes first hand, here’s an opportunity to do so, and help the club get ready to welcome in all speedway fans’ on the 29th March.

We’re also now able to advise arrangements around this year’s Press & Practice, and Meet the Riders’ events, scheduled for Wednesday, 25th March.

With the intention to again generate some significant eve of season publicity, the 2015 Tigers’ will meet the media at Ashfield from 1:30pm, with gates open to the public from 2:45pm, and on track practice revving up at 3pm – entry is free, and we hope to have food & drinks available to purchase. *timings are approximate

For supporters’ unable to witness the very first Ashfield laps of the year, there will be an opportunity to meet our new septet in the evening as we again stage our Meet the Riders event at the nearby Eagle Lodge. This event kick-off at 7.00pm, with door admissions of £3 adults and £1 children. This is a popular evening and allows us all to hear first-hand from the team and promotion as we race towards our much awaited season launch against Edinburgh on Sunday, 29th March (NB stadium will open at 1pm, please plan now to come along early for parking and to secure your new favourite spot to enjoy the action!).

Of course there’s no need to wait until Meet the Riders’ to know which 2015 Tiger(s) you’re likely to cheer the loudest for! Why not join those other Tigers’ fans’ who have already joined up as part of their favourite’s race team for this year – have a look here, whose race team will you link-up with for the season?

Supporters’ still wishing to take advantage of our fabulous Season Ticket offer – remember, you can save yourself up to £45! – can purchase these at either event on 25th March, and still receive their tickets in time for their first use, our League Cup clash with Berwick on Sunday, 5th April. Would you like to have a permanent place, preserved for posterity, in the new look home of the Tigers’? Well, now you can do just that, and at the same time recognise the place in this club’s history of one of our longest serving servants – James Grieves. We’ve launched a lifetime achievement wall in James’ name, and are now inviting supporters’ to purchase an inscribed brick to be displayed as a feature part of this. Spaces are limited, so please get in touch soon and buy your brick and honour a club legend – full details here.

So, lots and lots happening around the club, and much to keenly look forward to. If you have any queries about race day changes (e.g. parking, facilities, season tickets, where to stand etc.) please get in touch via info@glasgowtigers.co

Have you started to spread the positivity? Have you told your friends, work colleagues, neighbours and acquaintances that the Tigers’ are back with a bang? Whether in person or via your social media network, please act as agents of the club and help us make sure that everyone wants to come and see what Glasgow Speedway is all about this season.

Team Tiger, be loud, be proud.

PS – we still have space for some heat sponsors for the entire season; highly suited to business or groups of supporters’ – details right here
