TIGERS boss Cami Brown admitted he was proud of his side despite a frustrating KO Cup exit.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers beat Poole 49-41 in the semi-final, second leg at Ashfield Stadium.
But they fell short by just four points on aggregate to miss out on reaching the cup final.
Brown said: “It was a tough night as we expected, especially losing Villads Nagel beforehand. He has been a vital cog in the side and we missed his scoring badly.
“But that’s the luck of sport and the boys gave it everything, I can’t fault them for effort and I’m proud of them.
“We managed to get ourselves eight points up after six races but we then failed to really put the hammer down.
“The 5-1 against us in Heat 8 was probably the killer blow. The boys kept going but it was always going to be uphill from there.
“We probably lost the tie at Poole where things certainly went against us.
“Chris Harris, Dan Thompson and Leon Flint were absolutely outstanding with some breathtaking passing. The entertainment is always the best at Ashfield and we are proud of that too.
“Fair play to Poole they dug in and got the job done. Congratulations to them on reaching the final.
“But now all focus is on getting the result we need against Edinburgh on Friday to reach the Championship Grand Final.”
