GLASGOW bosses are to kick off a new fan initiative for the 2024 season.
The reigning Championship title winners will provide two free tickets to each season ticket holder to bring in fresh fans to Ashfield Stadium.
That will be available for two meetings and it’s strictly just for supporters coming to speedway for the first time only.
It will start for the opening clash of the campaign against local rivals Edinburgh on April 12.
Club owner Gerry Facenna said: “This has been the most exciting era for the club since we took over in late 2014.
“To win the Championship league title was very special to us and our wonderful and loyal supporters.
“But the biggest success for us remains that we want to make the club financially viable. It’s no secret that the club is still running at a loss and we are determined to change that.
“However, we have been hugely encouraged over the past couple of seasons to see a steady progress with attendances. What is even more satisfying is to see an increase in a younger generation of fans.
“We want to keep that momentum and push on in 2024. That’s why we are going to try with our new fan initiative.
“Our season ticket holders will have the opportunity to bring in someone new to the sport for free for a couple of meetings this season.
“What we have regularly found is that once new people come to Ashfield, they love it.
“The racing has been nothing short of sensational over the past few years. We have invested heavily with time and money in the track and it has paid off.
“We are confident that new fans to the sport will want to come back for more.
“It’s going to be another exciting season as we defend that league title. We just want to pack out Ashfield Stadium every week, because that’s what the entertainment deserves.”
