TEAM boss Cami Brown admitted it was a “massively disappointing” home defeat to Poole.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers went down 47-43 to the defending title winners in the Cab Direct Championship at Ashfield on Friday night.
Chris Harris was sensational with 17 points for the home side but he lacked consistent back-up.
Brown said: “With Dan Thompson and Ashton Boughen missing through injury, we needed our top four to be on the top of their game.
“But that wasn’t really the case and Poole are champions for a reason, they take their opportunities. They were consistently better out of the starts.
“It’s a massively disappointing defeat. We’ve had three great away wins and you never want to lose at home.
“Chris was once again fantastic and he’s such a brilliant leader. But we are certainly missing the scoring power of Dan right now.
“All the boys gave it 100 per cent but Poole were just the better side on the night. Their top five were far more solid.
“I have to give credit to Max Perry who battled really hard for four points.”
The key moments were 5-1 reversals in Heat 5 and Heat 12 which gave control to the visitors.
There was controversy prior to Heat 14 with Brown adamant Paul Starke missed the two-minute time limit to get to the tapes.
He added: “That was frustrating. Paul clearly missed the limit and should have been excluded. That obviously helped them secure the win in that race.
“But overall we weren’t good enough on the night. We will bounce back.”
