Tigers Interim Changes

As previewed yesterday, the Tigers have been forced into making not one, but two changes to our line-up for this weekend’s 3 league meetings in successive days.

Having been granted a facility for the now rested James Wright, Tigers have elected to utilise a guest in the form of Scunthorpe Scorpion Ashley Birks who will feature in all our meetings this weekend. Our thanks go to the Management Committee, Scunthorpe’s promotion and Ashley himself.

However whilst that is positive news, unfortunately Tigers will also have to operate Rider Replacement for Joey Ringwood who is suffering from a badly swollen knee as the result of his crash against Edinburgh almost a fortnight ago.

Whilst this is how the side will line up this weekend, it is not at all the target line-up that we have invested so much time and expense (we now have a four figure telephone bill!) in over the past couple of weeks. The speedway phone lines between Scotland, England, Denmark and the rest of Europe have been red hot in the past couple of weeks as we have followed up a large number of leads in trying to source a rider who can come in to the side and make an immediate difference to our fortunes.

There have been a healthy number of riders who would have liked to link up with Glasgow however who were prevented by pre-existing commitments. Unfortunate, but true.

We are still working on a couple of possibilities with a view to being able to bring in a new full time Tiger as soon as possible, clearly this cannot now happen until next week at the earliest. We will, of course, update you on Sunday and thereafter as soon as we are able to.

Listen out also on Sunday for details of an exciting fixture planned for the 16th June.
Keep standing behind the team, rest assured that the riders, and the promotion, are doing all we can on your behalf..
