TEAM boss Cami Brown admitted he was “disappointed” despite a narrow win over Berwick.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers took a Cab Direct Championship victory over the Bandits 47-43 in a hard-fought clash at Ashfield Stadium.
After a tight start, the home side pulled clear by 10 points only for Berwick to fight back in the last two races.
Brown said: “I have to say I’m disappointed with the final outcome winning by just four.
“We were in control of the meeting but threw away a lot of points, especially in the final two heats.
“There were lots of positives, especially the performance from Villads (Nagel). He was outstanding all night.
“It was great to see Freddy (Hodder) win Heat 2 in fine style but Max (Perry) was unlucky to have a bike failure while comfortably in second. Leon (Flint) was also excellent.
“However in the end it was a very rare sight to see Chris (Harris) pegged back in Heat 15 to give away a 5-1. That’s made the task much harder tomorrow night at Berwick.
“It’s been a huge blow that we’ve lost three of our team who are racing in the European Under-24 Championship in France.
“We are relying on guests which is never a good thing. But our top two Chris (Harris) and Kyle (Howarth) can take extra rides so we hope we can still get the job done.”
