TEAM boss Cami Brown has put faith in super-guest Drew Kemp for the crunch Scottish derbies.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers have drafted in the Great Britain star this weekend to fill the boots of broken scaphoid-struck Dan Thompson.
Glasgow face Edinburgh in quickfire MAXiCab KO Cup quarter-final clashes with the first leg at Armadale on Friday night and the second leg at Ashfield on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
Kemp, 22, scored a 12-point maximum for Tigers when he stood in for Kyle Howarth at Plymouth earlier this month.
Brown said: “Drew was terrific for us at Plymouth in a very important win for us.
“The main thing is that he came in and fitted in very well in the squad and gave it everything. We liked having him in the team.
“On his last visit to Armadale for Berwick he scored paid 13. Drew knows the place well having previously been an Edinburgh rider.
“We feel he is the right man for the job and I know he’ll give us 100 per cent.
“It’s obviously a big KO Cup tie for the club. Our record in the competition hasn’t been great since we won it in 2016. But we want to change that.
“We have a decent record at Armadale this season but, as I’ve said before, that means nothing on Friday night.
“Edinburgh have improved since we last faced them and they’ll be fired-up as always to get one over us.
“We’ve had very good results at Plymouth and Scunthorpe. Now it’s about maintaining that winning momentum this weekend.”
Brown has also been encouraged by the performances of the younger members of the side.
He added: “Ashton (Boughen) has been working hard and battled for every point in the SGP2 Qualifier last Saturday.
“Freddy (Hodder) and Max (Perry) have been much-improved recently and we are delighted with the progress they are all making.”
