Having won their last two home meetings, the Allied Vehicles Tigers are looking to make it a hat-trick of successive Ashfield wins – and preserve their strong start to our home league form – when the far travelled Plymouth Devils come to town this Sunday, tapes-up @ 3pm.
With recent successes over Rye House (KOC) and Ipswich (PL), a home win on Sunday would be the first time the club has managed to string together three successive home wins since April 2013.
Tigers will, once again be forced to line-up under strength with the Rider Replacement facility deployed for the still side lined Christian Henry. He has had further medical assessment on his arm injury and although a skin graft has not yet been deemed necessary, there is some infection which is making movement all the more difficult – we wish Christian a quick recovery.
With Dimitri also still out injured (due to return for our meeting Vs Berwick on 27th July) Tigers have booked Somerset’s Todd Kurtz to partner Kasper Lykke at reserve.
The Devils are, of course, led by the often controversial and enigmatic Team GB International Ben Barker, a former Ashfield track record holder. Barker, this week confirmed as one of the meeting reserves for next month’s British GP, is always a tough competitor and extremely watchable with his all action style.
Plymouth too will make use of Rider Replacement to cover for the injured Adam Roynon.
With back-to-back stand out performances from the Tigers heat leaders, as well as solid back up from the other team members, Glasgow will look to take control and dominate Sunday’s meeting and secure that further win. Plymouth have had some strong performances away from their home base this season and in Jensen and Katajisto they have very capable riders who could well offer Ben Barker the level of back up required to run the Tigers close.

Food for Thought
A reminder that Glasgow Speedway are lending support to the Evening Times campaign to raise awareness of the modern day reliance on food bank facilities within the City, and to create support for the many families who need to use them.
Accordingly, from Sunday and at each home meeting throughout July, there will be a donation collection point just inside the main entrance at Ashfield. We would like to urge that Tigers supporters (and visiting supporters too) make an item donation which will be forwarded to one/more food banks here in Glasgow.
As a guide, the type of supplies the Food Bank is looking for include the following –
• UHT or powdered milk
• Sugar
• Fruit Juice in cartons
• Pasta sauces
• Tinned sponge pudding and rice pudding
• Tinned tomatoes and other vegetables
• Tinned fruit
• Tinned meat and fish
• Rice and pasta
• Cereal
• Jam
• Tea and instant coffee
• Biscuits or snack bars
• Instant mash potatoes
• Toiletries including toilet roll, toothpaste and feminine hygiene products

Support Tigers Supporting Tai
We are delighted to confirm that four Glasgow Tigers fans have been included within World Champion Tai Woffinden’s charity bike ride fund raising initiative to be staged the day before the British GP.
Each of Kirsty Caffrey, Chris Caffrey, Michael Brady and Jean Barr (who is based in Australia these days!) have had formal acceptance, and have now started their respective fund raising.
