Just another couple of days separate us all from once again enjoying the very best of speedway action being served up right here in Glasgow.
With the new look Tigers team still unbeaten around their own patch this season, this Sunday brings the very latest tough test of that record as a talented and experienced looking Leicester side come to town.
In a Scandinavian dominated line up, the Lions are certain to pose a stiff challenge around Ashfield and must be considered a very real threat to that unbeaten record.
Led by former Tigers Kauko Nieminen (who has just returned to the saddle following injury), Aussie Kevin Doolan and Danish starlet Lasse Bjerre (younger brother of former GP star Kenneth), the Lions top end will stand up well against the home side who will look for an immediate return to form of James Grieves to alleviate the scoring pressure on the lower end this week.
Tigers have scored fairly solidly this season, which has been the secret to the team’s ability to win at home. With Henning Bager looking far more like himself over the past couple of meetings, and with the other riders all capable of picking up points, once again the home camp will be searching for a win and the league points to accompany it.
NB: At some point during the meeting on Sunday the Glasgow promotion will address the crowd, delivering what is deemed an important message – all fans are encouraged to attend to hear this first hand.
As ever, gates open at 1:45pm with racing commencing at 3pm.
A quick reminder too, if any supporter wishes to attend a GP night in the stadium bar this coming Saturday night (doors open at 5pm, £2 entry to cover finger buffet) then, due to limited spaces, please could you first email info@glasgowtigers.co to secure your places which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Look forward to seeing you, with friends, on Sunday.
