TIGERS ARE CLUB OF THE YEAR

TEAM boss Cami Brown admits he was “hugely proud” to pick up the award for Club of the Year from the World Speedway Riders’ Association.

The Allied Vehicles Tigers were given the gong after taking the Championship title for the first time in 12 years.

Club captain Chris Harris also took the award for Rider of the Year in British speedway.

Team boss Cami Brown received the trophy from Tigers legend Jim McMillan and said: “It’s obviously a huge accolade for the club and I feel very much deserved. We are hugely proud to get such an award.

“This is for the Facenna family owners and the fans. The investment of time and money into the club has been phenomenal over the past eight years.

“It’s taken a great deal of blood, sweat and tears to get to this level from where the club was before they took over.

“I’m delighted for everyone involved. It was a special moment to win the league and now we must build on that.

“It was no surprise to me that Chris Harris won Rider of the Year. He is an outstanding professional.

“There’s no doubt he was the inspiration for our league title success. To drop just one point over two legs in a Grand Final is just sensational.”
