TEAM boss Cami Brown hailed captain Chris Harris as “simply incredible” after a final home win.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers snatched a 46-44 victory over Oxford in the Cab Direct Championship at Ashfield on Sunday evening.
But it needed Harris to produce two stunning races from the back to secure the final win of the season.
Brown said: “Chris is simply incredible. He is the best No.1 in the league and one of the best riders this country has ever produced.
“We are very proud to have him as a Tiger. His final two rides in Heats 13 and 15 were unbelievable. To beat Sam Masters from behind on both occasions is different class.
“We were 10 points up after four races but we knew Oxford would come back.
“In Masters, Scott Nicholls and Ashton Boughen they had three big hitters who were outstanding.
“It got very tight at the end but Harris was the difference. His two wins at the end got us over the line.
“Once again the entertainment at Ashfield is the best in British speedway. The racing was sublime and edge of the seat stuff.
“It’s a great way to end the season with top draw racing, that’s what we want.”
Tigers ripped into an early 10-point lead as Cheetahs suffered early problems with both Boughen and Nicholls.
But the visitors gradually fought back impressively and drew level after Heat 12.
Then Harris brilliantly passed Masters in Heat 13 with Flint crucially getting the better of Nicholls.
In the decider, Harris then repeated the feat over the Cheetahs No.1 to seal the deal.
Brown was also quick to praise excellent guests Freddy Hodder and Jason Edwards.
He added: “Freddy was outstanding to be honest with two great 5-1s. Jason also got stuck in and was worth more than his paid seven scoreline.”
