Attention, and preparation, is ever turning now towards the new season ahead.
Tapes-Up on 30th March is now feeling much closer, however before then we still have much to focus on, and much to achieve – can you assist, and support, the Tigers with any of the following please?
Meeting your riders
Glasgow Speedway are now pleased to announce arrangements for this year’s annual Press & Practice event which will provide our first glimpse of the 2014 Tigers.
Events will be held on Wednesday, 26th March with the on track practice session commencing (weather permitting) at around 2pm. All supporters are welcome, admission is free.
Supporters will then get their first chance to meet the 2014 team in the evening (7:30pm til 10pm) at an exclusive event in the impressive Eagle Lodge, Bishopbriggs (just 10 mins drive from Ashfield, directly opposite Asda) – admission £3 adults / £1 children with funds going towards the air fence fund. *doors open at 7:15pm
Joey – update
We are obviously aware of some issues being experienced by several Australian riders securing Visa clearance to return and compete in the UK this season.
At the time of writing we are awaiting the outcome of the entailed Visa renewal process as far as Joey is concerned. We hope to understand the situation, and any impact on Joey, within the next week or so and will update further at that point.
Captaincy
Naturally Stewart is already giving considerable thought to who will captain the side this season, and also to riding orders and associated partnerships.
An announcement on Stewart’s decision will be forthcoming soon.
Work Party launch this Sunday
This coming Sunday (9th February) will see the first of our official work parties as we step up preparations in and around the stadium for the new season ahead.
We would encourage as many of you as possible to come along (it can be fun you know!) from 10:30 onwards – typical duties will include painting, weeding, sweeping & tidying. Materials will be provided (as will hot drinks) however it would really help if you could bring a brush, spade, paint brush as available.
Dimitri’s residency
We’re still keen to hear from anyone who may be able to assist in accomodating young Dimitri, and one of his parents, in / around Glasgow for the duration of the season. We are also looking for a workshop facility which our new young Tiger can make use of, be this part of the accomodation property or nearby. If you can help young Dimitri settle in to life in Scotland, please do get in touch by email in the first instance to info@glasgowtigers.co
Sponsorship – please can you help us?
As you know sponsorship / advertising is extremely important to Glasgow Speedway – as it is to every club in the land.
Whilst we have made good progress to date, we do still have capacity to take on more and would really appreciate if you were able to help directly else to put us in touch with someone who we could speak with regarding our sponsorship offering.
Some of the key forms of sponsorship we are keen to discuss are:
- Meeting sponsorship / Corporate Hospitality – you’ve seen companies (and groups of supporters) sponsor meetings at Ashfield and, in doing so, enjoy a day in our hospitality cabin – would your business, or your employer, consider entertaining clients, customers & staff at the speedway?
- Air Fence Panel advertising – Why not be amongst the very first to sponsor/purchase a panel on Glasgow Speedway’s first ever air fence! Provides a striking way to showcase any business or organisation. Remember one deal secures an advertising panel for season 2014 AND 2015 – click here for further details (inclusive of panel dimension and pricing)
- Heat Sponsorship – in the past many businesses and supporters have missed out given the limitation of available heat sponsorships. For 2014 we are effectively doubling up by making available up to TWO heat sponsors per heat – all still receive accreditation in the programme race card as well as via public address – click here for further details (inclusive of pricing)
- Race Jacket sponsorship – your chance to own a piece of Tigers history! This proved ultra successful last season and offers the ability to sponsor, for the entire season, the race jacket of your choice (subject to remaining availability) and to be able to present it in person to the rider who will start the season with it. You will receive a photograph of your presentation, and will be presented with your very own Tigers 2014 race jacket made to the same specification as the ones worn by the team – click here for further details (inclusive of panel dimension and pricing)
- Tyre Sponsorship – Why not help our Tigers get a grip in 2014! Our lowest cost form of rider sponsorship, but nonetheless once which really contributes to the rider and the club. Total cost over a season to equip our own riders with a fresh tyre per meeting is a five sum! – click here for further details (inclusive of panel dimension and pricing)
If you have any interest in any of the above, or another more specific form of sponsorship, or would be able to put us in touch with a prospective sponsor, please contact us via email to info@glasgowtigers.co
Thank you very much for any assistance you may be able to provide above.
Hope to see you along at Ashfield on Sunday.
