TEAM boss Cami Brown says there are “no second chances” ahead of a huge clash with Plymouth.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers last week went out of two cup competitions in eight days, losing to the Gladiators and Edinburgh. Now they kick off their Cab Direct Championship title bid against Plymouth again at Ashfield tonight (Friday).
Brown admits they cannot afford any more slip-ups. He said: “The defeat to Edinburgh last Sunday has to serve as motivation to get back on track and get a strong victory tonight against Plymouth.
“By quirk of fixtures, they return just a fortnight after being here in the MAXiCab KO Cup. That makes them dangerous opposition again.
“They’ve had experience of the track recently so we really will need to get our act together immediately.
“Despite the setback last week, there are a few positives which we mustn’t lose sight of.
“This team has so much fight in it. Nothing was working for anyone last Sunday but they didn’t lie down. They battled like mad to get the job done. They have character. If we can tweak the starts and cut out the bike problems, this team can succeed.
“But, don’t get me wrong, it has to start now. There are no second chances now.
“We’ve gone out of two cup competitions in a week and that’s not good enough for this club.
“The recovery starts now. We have to produce against the Gladiators and really get our season going. The boys know they have to produce. They know we can’t afford any more slip-ups.”
