TEAM boss Cami Brown says his side can’t afford any mistakes if they are to retain the Cab Direct Championship.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers take on Scunthorpe with two new riders at Ashfield tonight (Friday).
Matic Ivacic and Jason Garrad come in to make their debuts but Brown admits they will have to settle in quickly.
However, the Tigers will be without Steve Worrall who is out for a month with Labyrinthitis as Ben Barker comes in as a guest.
He said: “We can’t make any mistakes now if we are to make the play-offs.
“It’s going to be so tough because we have lost Steve Worrall for a month with illness.
“Team-wise, it is a huge blow. We struggled without Steve at Scunthorpe, although it’s a very tough place to go to with a full-strength team anyway.
“But I feel we would have been in a much stronger position for the aggregate bonus point.
“We will cover for Steve as best we can. Tonight we have Ben Barker, who is always good value at Ashfield.
“All the boys need to step up now and find something a bit extra.
“Matic and Jason have a tough task to come in and hit the ground running.
“After Scunthorpe we then have Poole home and away and that will be the acid test which we need to come through to keep our title hopes alive.”
