TEAM boss Cami Brown admitted it was a “massive result” to win at Edinburgh.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers took a 47-43 victory in the Cab Direct Championship at Armadale on Friday night.
Chris Harris and Kyle Howarth delivered a vital final heat 5-1 to take the points over the Monarchs.
Brown said: “It’s a massive result because we were up against it all night.
“We lost Max Perry after a huge crash in Heat 2 and it was a battle from then on.
“But the boys showed remarkable grit throughout and kept pushing Edinburgh. We kept the pressure on and I knew that I had Chris and Kyle to come in Heat 13 and two big hitters in the final heat.
“Everyone gave their all. Dan Thompson was outstanding and so unlucky not to get a pick in the final race.
“Leon Flint fought all night and Freddy Hodder also picked up a vital few points at crucial times.
“We had to really dig in at times. The middle pairing of Dan and Leon kept pulling us back into it.
“It puts up just two points behind Poole at the top of the table with two meetings in hand.
“I’m just so pleased for the massive travelling support we had from Tigers fans. That win is for them.
“We also send best wishes to Max. He is currently undergoing tests in hospital. He’s such a brave lad and he always gives 100 per cent. It was a huge impact in the crash.”
It was nip and tuck throughout with no more than four points between the sides.
The home side edged 29-25 in front after Heat 9 but the powerhouse Thompson and Flint pairing hit immediately back to level it up.
But the Tigers were far too strong in the big races of Heat 13 and 15 with Harris and Howarth delivering in fine style.
Brown added: “We now go to Workington and we’ll give it everything as usual. We will be without Max. But the aim is for another away win.”
