Everyone at Glasgow Speedway are deeply shocked and saddened by the death of Lakeside Hammers captain, Lee Richardson. Lee died as a result of injuries sustained in an accident whilst racing in Poland on Sunday night.
Primarily a top flight racer through out his career, Lee raced for several clubs in Britain, and was one of the very few British riders to make it to the top of world speedway by becoming World Under 21 Champion in 1999 and regularly competing in the Grand Prix series and Speedway World Cup with podium finishes in both formats.
We would ask fans to join us in remembering Lee by observing a two minutes silence before our home match against the Redcar Bears next Sunday.
Everyone’s thoughts at Glasgow Speedway are with Lee’s family and friends at this awful time.
