It will not be easy, but the Western Commercial Tigers aim to overturn a 14 point deficit when they tackle the Plymouth Devils in the second leg of the KO Cup. The Tigers were hoping for a narrower score down Devon way, but a last heat maximum for Plymouth make them slight favourites as the second leg gets uderway at 4.00pm on Sunday. The Devils carry a very strong top two with Ben Barker and Ryan Fisher sure to pose plenty of problems for the Tigers but Co-Promoter Stewart Dickson feels that it may very well come down to heat 15 in the second leg:
“If we had managed to keep the gap to 10 then I would have felt fine, but 14 is a lot to make up and looking at the strengths of both sides, I think it will be a Glasgow win in the margin of 12-16 points so being realistic this should be one of the closest and most exciting meetings of the season. I am glad that both our new lads got a meeting under their belt last week so should have some idea about how it will race, something that I hope the visitors will not have. Obviously they have a very strong top two and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few Edinburgh fans over to see Ryan Fisher again, while Ben Barker was at the centre of some controversy in the first leg, there always is when he is around, but he is a highly talented rider and I expect him to give Joe, James and Josh some cracking races. However I do think it is the lesser lights who will decide this one, and I need the likes of Mason to score well and it is also time for Jayden to get some points, Sunday would be as good a time as any.
