This afternoon’s cup clash is finely balanced on a knife edge.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers now know the size of their task at Ashfield later this afternoon if they are to progress to the Knock Out Cup quarter final at the expense of Rye House.
A 13 point Anders Thomsen inspired haul in last night’s first leg helped the Tigers to remain in contention, losing by 10 points on the night.
Both teams are now en route to Ashfield to conclude the cup tie, with Tigers expecting a stronger scoring performance from throughout the side around their home circuit.
There are two changes to the advertised line-ups, with the Rockets introducing Danny Philips at no.7 for the injured Stefan Nielsen, whilst Tigers will track Michael Palm Toft at reserve to replace Andre Compton who has travel issues.
So the scene is set for a thoroughly entertaining Cup tie this afternoon. The Rockets hold that 10 point advantage and, encouraged by their strong performance in the rain abandoned first attempt to run this tie, will defend it manfully, whilst the Tigers will sense that they have given themselves a strong chance of overturning the overnight deficit around their home patch.
