TIGERS No.1 Chris Harris says the team looks “well balanced” for 2026.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers season kicks off on March 28 hosting the Ben Fund Bonanza at Ashfield.
Harris, 43, has been a magnificent captain since returning to the club three years.
He came so narrowly to leading them to a third title in two years at Ashfield in October after a sensational end to the campaign.
‘Bomber’ admits: “I am very proud to lead that club and the boys out every week to wear that racesuit with that Glasgow logo on my chest.
“We didn’t achieve what we wanted to but I think people have seen the side of the club what I’ve been telling people for ages.
“The club owners Facennas are a wealthy family but they put a lot of money and time into British Speedway and trying to make the sport better in general.
“I’ve spoken to Gerry many times and he wants to win like everyone but his main goal is he that wants to entertain the crowd.
“He says if we lose at home by two points but the fans are going home and saying we’re back next week because the racing was out of this world, then he said he’s won because he wants fans to come through the gate to enjoy it with their families and have an entertaining evening.
“He doesn’t want to see gate and go follow my leader racing. I think we’ve achieved some of the best racing in the country over the last few years there.”
There’s little doubt Harris wants to be in the medal mix for 2026 and Glasgow look to have strong side on paper.
He added: “It looks like a very well-balanced team at Glasgow. It was nice that obviously we’re back in with Leon (Flint) and Kyle (Howarth).
“It was a shame that obviously Dan (Thompson) had to go. He didn’t do anything wrong.
“We have great new boys in Mario (Hausl) and Kevin (Juul Pedersen) and our reserves Freddy (Hodder) and Sam (Hagon) should improve as well.
“Sam has won two under-21s at Ashfield, so he knows his way around there. The new boys just need a bit of time to settle in, and I believe they will.
“For the new lads, Glasgow is an easy racetrack. The away ones, they might struggle a bit, especially the ones they’ve never been to. The rest of us just need to be on top of our game.
“But over all, I think we’ve got a good, solid side.”
